Hi there! I'm Sidonie. I'm french, I live in Montélimar, in Drôme provençale. I'm 26 and I've always lived in the countrysid, very close to nature. That plays a big part in my love for mountains and wilderness. I'm a very sensitive person. I live and do everything at 100% and that impacts my work for sure (and I hope for the best)
Initially educated as a cartoon animator, I have a passion for storytelling and emotions. I want to make things feel alive, true. I want my work to have meaning.
How did you get into the wedding industry?
It happened a bit randomly actually. I had been taking photos for years but really started to get serious about it when a friend told me he was getting married. I immediately offered him my services. I loved this wedding so much that I kept doing more and more until it became my full-time job.
But I realize afterward that it made complete sense for me as I am very sensitive and I absolutely love to tell stories (especially love stories)
Tell us about one of your best experiences at work?
One of my best experiences at work has been my recent trip to Scotland with one of my couples. They got married in France but had planned their honeymoon in Scotland. I had been dreaming of visiting this country for a while so I offered them to join the trip and do their day after session in the highlands.
It was the most beautiful session ever! The couple was adorable, we had so much fun, they actually became good friends! And the landscapes were breathtaking. I will never forget it!
What equipment do you use?
I shoot with two camera bodies: One Sony a7iii and one Canon 6D.
As for lenses, I shoot mainly with my sigma art 35 mm 1.4, but I also use a 85mm 1.8 and a 20mm 1.4
I also have a cobra flash for the party shots.
What's your favorite part of the wedding day? Why?
This is such a hard question! Every part of the wedding has its moments of powerful emotions. I would say the ceremony is the part that gets me more emotional. Couples exchange their wows and promise each other in front of their family and friends, and I think it is so powerful!
