Hello! My name is George Kapsalis and i'm a Wedding & Commercial Filmmaker based in Athens, Greece.
How did you get into the wedding industry?
I have almost 10 years in the Wedding industry and i got in after studying directing.
Tell us about one of your best experiences at work?
There are many great experiences at work, one of them are the destination Weddings!
You meet new people and discover so many great places and the whole experience at every
Wedding in a new place is excellent.
What equipment do you use?
I use Canon eos c100 mark ii as a main camera, Sigma art Lenses & Phantom 4 Pro mostly.
What's your favorite part of the wedding day? Why?
My favorite part at a Wedding is the party, when the Bride & Groom are stress-free and everyone enjoys the great mood!
Any advice for Brides and Grooms?
To relax and to enjoy their special day!
Any personal advice for fellow Photographers & Videographers?
To love their job and to be open to each other. Community over competion.
What were your early influences? Any photographers you looked up to or you still look up to today?
My early influences were almost movies. After studying though and got in the industry my early influences were Robert Balasco, Evergreen etc.
How do you prepare yourself before a wedding?
Getting a good night's sleep, eating a good breakfast, triple-checking the equiptment and calling the Groom & Bride for one last check-up about the information & timeline for the Wedding day.
How long have you been a photographer?
Approximately 10 years.
Can you describe your style of your photography?
My style of Videography it has a bit of reportage & natural moments and the edit is filmish while maintains a clear look.
Where do you find ideas for your work?
Mostly at Internet, there are so many great Wedding videographers and dozens of excellent Wedding films, so many articles but also from great movies.
What’s the most memorable wedding you’ve shot?
It was last year at Paros island. A unique Wedding with an excellent Pre-Wedding Party at Antiparos Island, the Wedding at Paros island with a crazy party and the After-Day session also at Paros beautiful alleys.
How has IGHA helped and supported your business?
It still did not helped but i hope that it will do!
What advice can you give to new wedding photographers about their pricing structures?
My advice is to not undervalue their selves. Of course every start is different and needs too much effort to make it work and to make the desired income, but with the right work and passion everyone can put their desired price and make it work.
Within the wedding industry, who else captivates and interests you?
Sculpting with time, Evergreen, Cinema of Poetry, Cinemotion, Beyond Vision, With Heart Films etc.
Where do you see wedding photography heading in the next few years?
The Wedding photography and videography makes giant leaps in the last years, the internet helped so much and the average quality is much better than it was 10 years ago. The level is much higher than it was.
Other than photography, what are your other passions or hobbies?
Travelling, watching movies, playing guitar, playing chess, playing pool.
