I'm Sandra, the founder of Frau Skroblies und Freunde, a small team of wedding filmmakers based in Cologne. We love to travel and capture unique and authentic stories. Our hearts beat for alternative weddings and elopements. For candles, warm summer nights, fairy lights, cosy barns, the mountains and the woods.
How did you get into the wedding industry?
Basically, my sister took this decision for me by "giving" me to her best friend to film his wedding.
Tell us about one of your best experiences at work?
Hard question, because there have been so many beautiful moments so far, which could not have been more different. I think I'm particularly touched by the small gestures and short moments when the guests feel unobserved: For example the grandfather who wipes a tear out of his eyes. And when I know that I have managed to capture it. That's an experience worth working for.
What equipment do you use?
Sony A7S II, 3 fixed focal lengths and 1 TS lens
What's your favorite part of the wedding day? Why?
Actually, the combination of two moments: When the bride and groom see each other for the first time and the tension and nervousness reaches its peak and the moment when the whole tension falls away from the bride and groom at the wedding dance.
The Why Are You Here Cafe: A new way of finding meaning in your life and your work
Life is completely inefficient and that is what makes the quality of life so good.
